As a Mandarin teacher, the happiest moments are seeing my students live better lives in Taiwan because of their proficiency in Chinese. Every time Yuko returns to Japan, she always asks if I need her to bring anything back. She has never forgotten this in the past seven years, and I have always deeply cherished this friendship. But the best gift I received was knowing that not only is her life and work in Taiwan going well, but she is also assisting government agencies in recording the Japanese version of promotional videos for the Wan'an Exercises, ensuring that local Japanese expatriates are well-prepared, thanks to her fluency in Chinese.
